Would not have gone for the money but for a career as an artist which I am now looking into. Never to late to go back to school, at least that is what my daughter says. I definitely would have had my kids earlier in life, I was 34 and 40 when they were born. We all have a great sense of humor and great genes, we all look younger then our age but I still get taken for my daughter's grandmother LOL and my kids call me old but that's ok. I still would be a child's advocate. And I would still believe in God but not Religion. -

This just happened within last 15 mins......
by Lied2NoMore ini saw an instagram post showing a short clip of a talk being given in one of our southern states.
the talk clip showed speaker making the statement, "jehovah doesn't want anyone to know satans real name, jehovah hates satan so much, he doesn't even want his name mentioned" .
i posted in comments: matt 5:44-48 with the full scripture rendered from niv.

In my parting email argument with the Elder I pointed out and requested that I was totally done hearing about Satan. My statement to him was "you are not to mention Satan at all because I am totally done with you and Satan". He did not use the word Satan he put "------" at least 30 times in the email not once did he mention Jehovia. In one of my earlier emails I asked the JW's worshipped Jehovia or Satan because the ratio was running about 1 to 30. -

This whole thread is crazy.
But will someone please explain : Soon, JWs won't be able to wear wool and linen together... Oh, wait... That's been done..This was mentioned by someone above. So you are saying, I cannot wear a thin wool sweater under my $400. linen suit, oh and I always wear heals and very tasteful makeup.
How in the world did you all ever put up with this level of control? I am really not getting this.

The Elder and I never had a single disagreement in five years because he never discussed his religion. See the first part of my name that is who I have always been. My first job out of college was store manager of a store that only men could possibly handle. Since it was home office orders the district manager was not to happy with this arrangement and was determined to make my life miserable but I am pretty tough. I won he ended up in forced retirement. Before leaving the company a few more of these men with this "old" attitude would come tumbling down. If the company wanted to keep it's federal contracts it had to have female managers.
Your young Elders are wearing SKIRTS!! There was a recent thread by Bonsai (sorry gentlemen) had that call been placed to a female elder, her motherly concerns about someone in need would have kicked in not that male ego attitude. I know some of the elders care but mothers tend to ignore rules when caring for their flock, then they go back and look at the rules. We are going to protect are kids first. Just think how all those child abuse issue would have been handled. Recently there was a tape recording of a young lady telling an elder off for not looking after her son when she had been d/f. One brave lady. As jwstruggle said they had tried to get him deleted as an elder on several occasions. He was down right rude to her throughout the phone call.
Gentlemen, women are your equal.
Children need to be raised as independent individuals learning to make their own decisions. My children made their own decisions in middle school with a little oversight on my part. By high they were making their own decisions. Thus by the time they were ready for college mom did not need to hold their hands. Mom was not making decisions for them.

I disfellowshipped my parents this week..
by fulano ini just wrote them a mail, telling them to not contact me any more under any circumstances, illness or death (79 and 83 years old).
unless they leave the cult and would apologize for our f*'.ed-up upbringing which ruined our whole life.

Fulano, I support you 150%, you will find plenty of love outside of the JW community. I am 64 years old, I am not a JW but a year ago I disowned both my mother and my sister. 63 years of emotional and physical abuse is far to much from a mother. A sister who is only there for you when you are willing to write her a paycheck otherwise she thinks you are scum.
Two years prior in my home, I was actually trying to care for my mother till the County Sheriff and the lady from social services took me for a walk and explained that for my safety and all members of the household this lady needed to be placed in a much more secure environment with 24 hour surveillance.
Best friends are sometimes closer then blood will ever be to you in time of need.
Stay strong there are a lot of people who truly you.

Not a JW but a red hot Italian single parent who at times could have a short fuse. My kids also used a method called selective hearing so when I asked for things to be done they selectively heard them. Well eventually that fuse got a tad bit to short and when the hot Italian mom became extremely silent it was amazing how quickly they suddenly remembered all those things they had selectively not heard before. -

Barings Bank & the JWs
by Doltologist inin the early 1990s, i was in a meeting.
we were making some major changes to the main it system of the company i worked for.

I am not sure about the taxation exemption as a 501C3 which churches are in the US they do have to prove charity. I know we are audited (not church) on a regular basis and we must prove that we are not accumulating assets and that the money is going to charities.
